Wednesday Night at Bonnaroo

We rejoin Nate's Bonnaroompah adventures with Wednesday night at Bonnaroo.

Be sure to take a moment to check out the video at left of the Bonnaroompah band heading out of their camp site to the Brooer's tent.

Nate's the guy with the big base drum!

Wednesday night at Bonnaroo was a blast, with more than enough adventures to spin on and on about. Here is the quick re-cap:

We walked around to see the park before eighty thousand some odd people crashed it. Even without all the fans, it still felt full of party potential. Our rounds proved that feeling to be right on the money.

As we walked around, we watched tech guys put the last coats of paint on stages and decorations throughout the park.

We also found the radio tent and got on Radio Bonnaroo with Ashley Capps right there in the booth, and Phil Pollard spun poetically about the deep Polka roots of the Bonnaroompah band.

Afterwards, we scored free keg beer from vendors and some pre-festivity catered BBQ and black beans, and went out for more exploration. It was at this point that we had our big adventure of the evening.

We decided since there weren't any acts on stage yet, it was the perfect opportunity to get on the What Stage (the main Bonnaroo stage). That lasted about a minute before we promptly got kicked back off of the What Stage.

Happily, we managed to meet the tech crew after they finished tightening the last bolt on the What Stage and cracked open some well-earned post job beers with them.

We struck up a conversation with some tech engineers and got escorted back on the What Stage, where a guy who had a name like (but most assuredly it wasn’t) Pablonius took a very bad picture of the Bonnaroompahs.

We all had a good laugh, soaked in as much as we could of the main stage mojo, and went back to the tent to crash.

We had been there all of a few hours, and the magic was already kicking.

Stay tuned for the biggest Bonnaroompah article to date: the first official day of Bonnaroo, when Nate and his merry band of Bonnaroompahs learn that everybody loves a Bonnaroompah Parade!
